My Photoshop skills aren’t great, but they’re better than the spelling/language skills of most Americans. It kills me when I see Twitter/Facebook updates with Chipotle spelled how it’s spelled above (yes, I Photoshopped that). I feel like there are some words that just trip people up, and there are people who aren’t great spellers. But then there are words that people know how to spell, yet they purposely choose to be careless and lazy and I absolutely hate it. Yes, this is mostly an old-man rant, but also partly one from a guy who can’t understand why people are so bad with one of the first things they ever learned, the most common denominator they have between themselves and everyone they know: Language. No one pronounces it Chipolte, so why would anyone spell it that way?

I just spent a few minutes reading an online photography lighting tutorial. After I Googled the photographer and lesson instructor, Ben Clay, I searched the beautiful model, Rebecca Roach. Turns out she died last year of breast cancer. Rest in peace, Ms. Roach.

I took this picture on the C train from Manhattan to Brooklyn on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011. It looks like the one or two sites I know about that are devoted to pictures of people sleeping in public or sleeping on the subway aren’t really updated anymore, so it only makes sense to start a Tumblr, no? Anyway, stuff that doesn’t go on my sports site or my photography site will end up here. I always have a camera with me, and I live in the most interesting city in the world, so come back soon for more New York flavor.
